Blinds, Shades & Shutters in Glen Ellyn
The streets around Lake Ellyn and the historic downtown are full of homes built with real intent — deep-set double hungs, leaded transoms, stair landings with angled tops, and the occasional stained-glass panel nobody wants to cover. Those houses reward a product that is measured to the opening rather than trimmed to fit, which is the whole reason we build everything custom.
The village also sits on genuinely hilly ground, so exposure changes house to house in a way it does not in flatter towns. A south-facing front room on one side of a street can be punishing by three in the afternoon while its neighbor across the road never needs more than a light filter. That is a judgement you can only make standing in the room, which is why we bring the samples to you instead of asking you to guess from a showroom.

Designer Banded Shades
Alternating sheer and solid bands on a single roller. Line them up for a clear view, offset them for privacy — one shade covering the whole range, with a very slim stack at the top.
Recommended in Glen Ellyn
Duette® Cellular Shades
Glen Ellyn’s older housing stock often still has original or early replacement glazing. An insulating honeycomb shade is the cheapest meaningful improvement you can make to that window.

Heritance® Wood Shutters
100% natural hardwood with an Integra™ finish, in 20+ colors plus custom matching — the right weight for the village’s older homes.
Glen Ellyn questions
Asked and answered
Can you cover an angled window over a staircase?
Usually. Angled and trapezoid tops can often be built operable, where a true half-round arch is normally a fixed piece because there is nowhere for it to stack. We will tell you which yours is when we measure it.
Do banded shades give full privacy at night?
In the closed position the solid bands overlap and block the view in. They are not a blackout product — for a bedroom where you want genuine darkness, ask us about Duette® with LightLock® instead.
